LG Wants to Ban BMW and Audi Equipped with Osram

SEOUL - The South Korean giant LG Electronics said Wednesday it had seized the South Korean court to ban the sale of BMW and Audi models equipped with LED headlights (LEDs) produced by its German rival Osram, he accused copy its patents.

The complaint against LG subsidiary of Siemens is the latest episode in a long legal battle that both engage in industrial worldwide, in accusing each other of patent infringement.

In June, Osram filed a complaint against LG and Samsung Electronics in Germany and the United States. LG and Samsung had immediately responded by filing a complaint in turn.

In July, LG took the South Korean commercial court to ban imports of LED products from Osram.

The global market for LEDs should weigh some 15 billion US dollars by 2015, according to Global Industry Analysts study.
