2014 Honda Jade Install Popular LED Headlight Bulbs

At the weekend, I take two days to retrofit a low beam led headlight kit on Honda Jade. Although finally I don’t choose led headlight but determine to keep my halogen bulbs, I still learn valuable experience by this working. Today I’d like to share with you my retrofit experience and my analyze.

Select LED Headlight: this is a COB led headlight and hot-selling in China market. 3800Lm according to seller’s introduction.

Replace right headlight bulb: Why do I replace one headlight bulb only? Because I want to compare its light beam to my right original halogen bulb.

The headlight bulbs with blue wedge in picture is for high beam. The low beam headlight bulbs is on top right corner with black rubber cover.

The low beam headlight bulbs on Jade is H11 base.

Finish installation. Left bulb is led while right bulbs is original halogen. LED is 7500K with a little blue white.

We can see that the right led light is obviously brighter than halogen bulbs within 5 meters but lighting is scatted, while right halogen bulbs is spotlight with longer distance of radiation.

At this time, I test at 11:00 pm, on a section of road without street light. Please notice that how far does the halogen light can reach.

Now we replace the right halogen bulbs to led headlight bulb. Test again.

On the first time test above, we can see clearly the railing on front of us.

After we replace two bulbs to be LED , we can’t see clearly the railing, but light within 10 meters is brighter than before.

On the first time test, we can see clearly the third telegraph pole on right side.

But on this test, we can only see the second telegraph pole on right side and just the first telegraph pole on left side.

Test result:

Advantage

1. It is super bright within 10 meters.

2. Led headlight start very fast.

Disadvantage

1. LED light is scatted, short distance of radiation, terrible for running on highway.

2. Light decay is obvious, at the beginning, this headlight has 3800lumen, but in one hour, it has only nearly 2500 lumen.

All in all, if you usually drive in highway at night, don’t use this led headlight as it is not safe. But if you only drive in city, this led headlight is good for your driving.
